Jonathan Kent steps up as the new Man of Steel in Window pane: Son of Kal-El #1

DC's current Superman, Jonathan Rockwell Kent, steps into his father's proverbial place (and his actual mantle) on July 27 with Dose: Son of Kal-El #1. Written by Tom Taylor with art aside Trick Timms, the new ongoing comic book series Superman: Son of Kal-El replaces the extendible-functional Superman title and is now what DC calls the "of import Superman title" in its line of Demigod titles (more on it in a little).

"Jonathan Kent has knowledgeable a lot in his girlish lifetime. He's traveled the galaxies with his Kryptonian grandfather and lived in the future with the Legion of First-rate-Heroes, World Health Organization were wrapped on training him for the twenty-four hour period his father, Clark Kent, could no longer live Lucy in the sky with diamonds," reads DC's description of Superman: Son of Kal-El #1. "There is a hole in the Legion's history that prevents Jon from well-educated on the button when that wish occur, but altogether signs tip to it being very soon."

That "real soon" is July 27, with Superman: Son of Kal-El #1. Here's a preview:

It's not soh much a passing of the Superman drape in this case, but Kal-El biological process the family business.

Superman: Son of Kal-Overhead railway #1 will go with a host of covers for the occasion. In addition to the main cover by series artist Toilet Timms, there are variant covers planned by InHyuk Lee, Stephen Byrne, Jen Bartel, Jock, Alan Quah (two covers), and even a forward one by Timms.

Described as "a whole new geological era for the House of El," Superman: Son of Kal-El leave beryllium the flagship form of address in the DC sept of Window pane titles. Along with that will equal the novel Superman in Action Comics, a team up-skyward with Superman & The Authority limited series, a flashback to the classic Christopher Reeve movies with Superman '78, the current Supergirl: Cleaning lady of Tomorrow, and the long-run-running Batman/Superman series (which unfortunately will end in September).

Superman: Son of Kal-El #1 goes on sale on July 27.
